Data Management

The core to the CP services provided and offered by RASCO is the assurance that  collection, storage and management of CP monitoring data is being achieved to the highest quality levels and in a quantifiable and traceable manner.
To achieve this RASCO owns and operates ProActive which is an innovative database system from MC Miller, for managing, summarizing and reporting all collected information relating not only to cathodic protection but to pipeline integrity. The database is designed to assist in ensuring pipeline integrity by identifying potentially damaging data trends. 
The database program is specifically used for CP data entry via both direct download from the MC Miller Gather G1 data-logger equipment and by manual data entry.
RASCO use the database to collate and action data for all CP related equipment and stations along a pipeline. Historic readings, and a traceable trail of all changes are maintained, pipeline features such as anomalies, coating defects, foreign service crossings are also indexed and recorded within the database. This database is where all historical CP information is stored and where new data is deposited and integrated with historic data.

Once loaded into the GIS system the collected CP and coating defect data can readily be overlaid onto the pipeline route maps for wider usage.
